History of Firm
Our firm is owned and operated by attorneys Stan McWilliams & Tim McWilliams, father and son. We are a boutique law firm specializing in all aspects of real estate law. This firm traces its roots in McKinney back to 1876. Born in Sulphur Springs, Texas, and schooled in the law in Lubbock, Stan has practiced law at this firm in McKinney, TX since Alex Orr and Jewell Abernathy hired him in 1972.
Raised in McKinney, since the year of his birth, Tim earned his J.D. in Fort Worth at Texas Wesleyan School of Law (now Texas A&M School of Law) in 2008. Staying in Fort Worth, Tim practiced civil and criminal trial law at a small firm in Parker County, Texas until April 2013, when Tim moved with his wife and growing family to McKinney, and joined his father at McWilliams & McWilliams. Tim became partner in 2017.
